GreenTrack is our strategy for embedding sustainability in all we do. With agriculture, customers, environment, and colleagues
and communities at its heart, it is our plan, our future.
Sustainability is about doing business better. GreenTrack is our plan for doing just that. For the first time, we now have a
strategy which encompasses those elements of the business which will drive our sustainability journey.
There are four pillars in our strategy, namely:
- Our Agriculture
- Our Environment
- Our Customers
- Our Colleagues and Communities
Targets across the four pillars have been set to drive the transition to total sustainability, these range from energy
reduction to apprenticeship schemes, from on farm carbon footprints to salt reduction and everything in between.
Achievements – the business is already benefitting from this strategy though it is still in it’s infancy, for instance:
- Top Rated Red Meat Company in the Arena NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey
- Our ‘GreenTrack’ farmer was runner up in M&S farmer of the Year
- One apprentice received the Recognition Award at the Northern Ireland 2012 Apprentice of the Year Awards.
Speaking at the launch Gerry Maguire, Managing Director, Linden Foods said: “Linden Foods is committed to operating in a
responsible and sustainable way in everything we do. We have always known the importance of having in place sustainable
farming practices, of minimizing waste, of ensuring our colleagues are valued and rewarded with a safe and challenging
workplace with opportunities to train further and develop. "The launch of Green Track formalises our commitment to sustainable
business practices and ensures this approach is central to our strategic decision making. Sustainability is important to us,
to our customers, to our staff and colleagues and to future generations and we are proud to be leading by example with this
